LINDSAY LJUNGKULL: UN FIT
MARCH 15 – APRIL 16, 2010
PRESS RELEASE
.
Light and Wire Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Los Angeles artist Lindsay
Ljungkull entitled Un Fit.
The exhibition will feature two new videos, Cog and Cry. Cog is a working video; the workers in the video go to work, perpetuating the cycle of production. An artist makes work: makes a piece of work and creates work to occupy herself, rather than participating in the work that already exists. The video itself works, and then breaks. Cry documents the defiant wail of a young child from two alternating perspectives.
Ljungkull has her MFA from the University of Southern California. She has exhibited her films in various galleries and screening projects, including Supersonic 2006, Frieze Art Fair’s Film as Event, and the Hammer Museum. She was also featured in the New Museum’s Younger Than Jesus Artist Directory. She has an upcoming show at the USC Gallery 3001 in August of 2010.
